Qualified DisplayPort VESA Authorized Test Centers ready for end product UHBR certification

BEAVERTON, Oregon – May 9, 2022 – The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA®) today announced that the first video source and display devices to support DisplayPort Ultra-high Bit Rate (UHBR) – the highest data link speeds supported by the DisplayPort version 2.0 standard – have certified through the DisplayPort UHBR Certification Program. To achieve this milestone, the UHBR chipset reference source and display designs provided by AMD, MediaTek, and Realtek have passed the PHY, link, and interoperability test requirements described in the conformance test specification. DisplayPort 2.0 (CTS). The higher bandwidths enabled by UHBR support a variety of use cases such as uncompressed 8K 60Hz HDR, 4K 240Hz HDR, two 4K 120Hz HDR displays, or four 4K 60Hz HDR displays via a single cable.

VESA also announced today that qualified VESA DisplayPort Authorized Test Centers (ATCs) are ready to begin testing and certification of UHBR end products using approved test equipment and receiver devices and reference sources. for interoperability testing.

A technical demonstration of a reference source and receiver configuration from AMD and MediaTek operating at UHBR link rates will be demonstrated at the Display Week Symposium and Expo in San Jose, CA, May 10-12, 2022 at VESA Booth #214 at the San José Convention Center.
